Kirna Zabete for Target: Mini-Review

I did swing by Target and picked up a few things .... most are going back, this is the one picture I thought might be helpful for anyone thinking about purchasing....

Tweed Dress: Size XS ... I really wanted to like this.... the faux leather trim and tweed are cute and right on trend!  however, it fits kind of like a box.  The bust was tight (at least you can unzip it!) and the length was far too short ... now with leggings, it would be ok.  This is going back.... not so flattering.

Underneath is the lace top in a size Small.  I'm keeping this.  Very cute and stretchy and I think it will be a great and trendy laying piece.  I may even go back and snag the pink color, too!

Thanks for stopping by - lots of new J.Crew reviews coming soon! :-)

J.Crew Jules Dress in Snow Cat: Review

Jules dress in snowcat
Was: $188 Now: $119

This is a size 2.  It is just ever-so-slightly snug across the chest, but better than I expected from a non-stretch material.  As you can see, it is a little short with it belted... not too short for me, but I am 5'5" with shorter legs.... so 'bare' that in mind ... haha...

I love that there are pockets in front - not so sure I would use them, but a nice touch.  I'm also thinking of pairing this with leggings or tights when the weather cools down - if that ever happens!  :-/

Overall, I got this for about $105 back when it was on promo and extra off, so I think it's a keeper.  I didn't expect to like it, but I was pleasantly surprised!

OOTD: Chambray Blazer

In efforts to support my new business, Wardrobe Rehab (link to our fabulous website on the right of the screen! :) I am getting into the 'Instagram' thing.  I may be the last one to catch on to this - just like I might have been the last person under 30 to buy a touchscreen phone :-/

Anyway, look for a lot more OOTD posts here in the coming weeks - we are trying to offer our clients (and readers) a little inspiration, just a sooooo many bloggers out there.  As a J.Crew fanatic, a sale scourer, and a fashion addict I believe I can relate to a lot of women who look online for style (and other) inspiration!

For anyone who is new to my blog, welcome!  Check out the blogs I follow for so much info on style, sales, specific fashion items, and general inspiration and fun!  Thanks for stopping by!

New J.Crew Items: Part I (Ruffle Henley, watercolor potpourri scarf, slub v-neck)

Well, my self-imposed shopping ban (aka: I-don't-need-to-buy-anything-right-now-because-I'll-only-be-able-to-fit-in-it-for-a-month-or-two shopping ban) didn't last very long once the new stuff hit the stores the past couple of weeks.  I didn't think it would be a big deal to browse the store considering the last roll-out didn't interest me at all, but boy was I wrong.

I think I get sucked into Spring stuff every year because the colors are fun and it just gives me something to look forward to in my closet!  The last few years I've preferred JC's 'resort' roll out over their following 'spring' roll out (ie: giraffe shorts from last year, etc...) but that's just me.

The only thing that sucks about trying on Spring/Summer clothing in February is that the shorts and tanks reveal much more of that lack-of-tan, probably-haven't-shaved-in-a-while (at least not paying much attention to accuracy if I do) and maybe-I-need-to-hit-the-gym-a-little-harder body that's been hiding under sweaters and jeans that past few months.

That being said, I steer far away from trying on any bathing suits or short-shorts until I can at least hit the tanning bed a few times.... but since I'm pregnant, that may have to wait until after we go to California for Spring Break.  Bummer.  So it's capri's and jeans for me until then! :)

On to the good stuff:

Tuxedo Ruffle Painter Henley - $39.50

I really loved all the colors in this shirt but the lilac color (hyacinth), which is funny because that's the color I initially purchased... but I have to admit,  lilac really is not my color.  So I ended up going back and getting white because I don't have many cute white tops, but I'll also get the dark pewter color if it makes it to the sale section.  I plan on wearing this with a tank underneath to help with the see-through issue.  I bought a Small which is a bit clingy in the waist area (although, honestly, everything is clingy in my waist area these days!)  This runs TTS.

Vintage Slub V-Neck Tee - $29.50

I freakin' love the fit and colors of this shirt.  I really want the neon rose, wild plum, and breeze.  I purchased a size Small in moroccan spice and feel this shirt runs TTS for a non-fitted tee.  I'm in love with the sexy but not slutty neckline, slim but not clingy fit, and perfect weight fabric.  Can't say enough about this tee.  Love it!

Possible Name: Watercolor Potpourri Scarf in Papaya - $59.00
(I say "possible" because I really have no idea what the name of this it, but here is the tag info as I haven't seen it online:  Style# 23288  Color PAP)

More pics with slub v-neck...

love it with white...

and with lavender tank from last year.
I honestly still cannot believe I spent $60 on a dang scarf, but I'm obsessed with the look and feel of this!  Not only will it compliment so many casual pieces and colors, it also has black in the pattern, so I plan on wearing it as a scarf/ shaw with a little black dress!  LOVE IT!

Ok, that's all I've got for tonight.  Check back soon for reviews of the Vintage Stripe Bateau top and tiered tanks!

Outfits of the Day - Mostly J. Crew

I need to catch-up on posting, so here are a few quick outfits!

I just love this top.  From the exposed zipper in the back to the patter... love love love.  AND, I figured I would go ahead and wear it in the Fall with jeans because ... well, everything goes with jeans! (right Gigi?! I think you mentioned this in a post a while back!)  I always have to put a fitted cami under this top though, because when I raise my arms or bend over, all is exposed!

Love the Copelle Paisley paired with these Penelope's from a couple years back!  I also tried the rolled jean bottom look for the night with my straight leg Citizens jeans  ... not sure I pulled it off, but whatev...

Go-To Cafe Capris paired with ATL Chiffon Rose Tee and JC Always Cardigan in Black (I love how this cardigan could be a PJ cover-up or you could wear it over a dress... love it!)

I didn't take a picture of this outfit, but I recently wore the Ocelot Cardigan with the Victoria Ruffle Tissue Cami together and it looked FAB!!

Minnies in a New Color and New Tee - J. Crew

Obviously, I had to hit up my JC this past Thursday to see the highly-touted new roll-out of fall/winter items. Mostly I'm just waiting for items I already love to go on sale so I can purchase them (or purchase them in an additional color) but I still had to make it up to the store to check out the new items!

I was SO excited to find out that the Minnie pants now come in an additional navy/ purple-ish color! The Minnie's are my absolute fave pants hanging in my closet right now and I'm so excited to add the new color to my wardrobe. I have a slight obsession with the color navy right now... I don't know what that's all about, but anyway....

So, this picture seriously sucks, but believe me, these are the Minnie's in the new navy/purple color!

I also came home with a new tee with a tuxedo looking front in a dusty pink color. Gigi reviewed the same shirt in navy here on her fabulous blog! I purchased this in a small.

Up close of the detail on the tee

Can't wait to wear these new items .... maybe together!

Ribbon-Front Bow Top - J. Crew {What a Deal!}

While perusing through my local B&M recently, I happened across this top. I really liked it when it first came out, but not enough to pull the trigger ... especially after reading some less-than-fabulous blog reviews about the fit.
However, when I ran across it at $19.99, I felt like it was a "Hell yeah!" no-brainer! I've already worn it twice. I could definitely see how someone who is ample in the "ladies" department would have to size-up in this top, or find it to be a hard fit in general, but for me it works! I LOVE the cotton/ silk blend and the nice sheen!

For 20 bucks, you better head to your local store now and see if you can pick one up!

The Anton Sweater: Heather Camel & Dusk - J. Crew

Easy and effortless—this is the sweater you'll shrug on over everything from feminine dresses to a simple knit tee. Spun from a supersoft merino wool and cashmere blend in a lofty 7-gauge knit, it features a single-button closure and wide-ribbed trim. Merino wool/nylon/cashmere. Fitted. V-neck. Three-quarter sleeves. Hits at hip. Import. Dry clean. Item# 17857 Price: $98

My first fall-rollout review is of The Anton Sweater. After browsing through the August catalog, this sweater and the Minnie Pant were really the only items I felt strongly about trying, Luckily, my store received both and I was able to try-on and figure out what size I would need. The Anton sweaters completely flew off the shelves of my local B&M in all colors and sizes they got in. My store only carried the heather grey and charcoal colors of the sweater, so I was going to have to order the heather camel color anyway, so I went ahead and placed an online order for all the items.

My first reaction to the sweater was very positive. Sometimes I get an item and initially I'm not thrilled ... but then I guess I kind-of try to convince myself that I love it!? I don't know .... but anyway, this was not the case with this sweater!

It's a great mid-weight sweater.... not see-through or thin, but definitely something you could start wearing in the early Fall (at least in the midwest!) through the Winter under a coat and possibly into Spring. The fabric feels great, and in my honest opinion, better than most of their 100% cashmere options.

I absolutely love this sweater! My biggest concern is deciding which color to keep, because at the full price of $98, one of these beauties MUST go back!

Bottom Line: LOVE LOVE LOVE this. I allowed myself to purchase this FP b/c it was one of the very few things that caught my eye and I HAD to have! The sleeves run a bit tight, so I sized up to a Small. The sweater still hangs very nicely and is not too big or bulky... plus there is room to wear a tee underneath.

Do you have this sweater yet? If so, what do you think? How will you wear it? Are you holding out for it to go on sale? Which color should I keep?

OOTD: Bunco Night Out, F21 Jewelry and What's to Come

OK - so obviously I'm still in Cali and haven't been able to do my regular posting. BUT, I'm heading home tomorrow and CANNOT WAIT to blog about some of the finds from this trip!!!

Until then, this is the outfit I put together for Bunco night in the neighborhood just before we left for vacation! I am loving navy right now!

Top: J. Crew Ringspun Rosette Tee in Shell
Bottoms: J. Crew Navy Summerweight Bermuda
Necklace: F21

Also, I hit up the local F21 before we left and found these awesome jewelry steals!!
I love this necklace .... it looks very cool and expensive in person! I don't do a lot of silver anymore, so I think I really needed this ;)
I've already worn this several times. It's light pink and stretch. The only issue is a couple of stones already fell out ... but you can't really tell and it was only $5 ... so there!
Just love this! And it's not too grossly oversized like some JC pieces!

Coming up next week: Review of the brand spanking new Forever 21 at Huntington Beach and all the awesome finds from there, baby gift registry 101 - what I learned, Martin + Osa trench and rain jacket!

Sunblocks Print and Summerweight V-neck Cardi: J. Crew {Sale Finds!}

Lovin' me a couple of great finds from my local J. Crew Sale section! I purchased a Summerweight Cardigan in a charcoal color and the Sunblocks Print shorts. Both these items were on sale for $19.99 plus an additional 20% off, so I was pretty pumped they still had them in my size.
Here are a couple of IRL pictures of both pieces paired together, then a couple of just the shorts:
*also paired with Glass Pearl Necklace in Shell (JC) and Perfect V-Neck Tee in white (JC)

Summerweight Cardi and Sunblock Shorts

I LOVE the colors in these shorts!

Bottom Line: Who can't use another lightweight gray cardi - or any other color for that matter? I really love this piece! I got it in an XS and it fits great. I would say it's TTS to a little large for JC cardigans. The length is perfect... not too long, not short.
The shorts are super cute with a side zip and nice sturdy fabric. They run TTS. I got these in my normal size 2, which was surprising because I usually have to size-up in the specialty shorts. (i.e. - I had to get a size 4 in the Giraffe Shorts)

J. Crew Oxford Tunic: Outfit Help!

Ok, so I ordered this tunic after seeing an excellent review on Gigi's Blog. However, after receiving it, I'm kind of running into an issue of actually completing an outfit using it! Please help! I'd love some suggestions! After much rummaging through my closet, I came up with the following outfit ...

Top: Oxford Tunic, J.Crew, XS, shell
Bottoms: Paige Premium, straight leg, white
Belt: J. Crew skinny silver leather belt

I then proceeded to take this entire outfit off and put on something different because I just didn't feel like it looked great. HELP!
Any suggestions on what to pair this tunic with? Do you have it or something like it? How to you wear it? I'd love to hear it!

OOTD: Nautical for the Riverfront & Free Shipping on Etsy Shop Items!

First off, this is the last day of FREE SHIPPING on flower pins in my Etsy Shop! I'm leaving on vaca on Tuesday, so today is the last day I can take orders and ship out tomorrow!

This is the outfit I wore a couple of days ago to eat and hang out by the river.

Tee: J. Crew
Jeans: Paige Premium
Belt: J. Crew
Necklace: F21
Bracelet: J. Crew
Blazer: Banana

I was giving this "blazer look a try. I still feel a little manly in a blazer. I think I pulled this off pretty well, but I still feel more feminine and comfy in a nice cardigan! But that's just me!
HUGE shout out to Paige Premium Denim jeans. I going to be doing some denim reviews in the coming week, as well as some AWESOME baby product reviews ... so watch for that!
Enjoy your Sunday!
